Bishop Lifting Products and Slings.com is pleased to offer the following widely used JC Renfroe, Campbell or Crosby lifting clamps. Plate clamps can be either horizontal or vertical. These horizontal and vertical clamps are used to lift and transfer materials during rigging applications. Whether you will use a horizontal or vertical clamp depends mainly on the type of materials being transferred.
Horizontal Clamps: Used for the horizontal transfer and lift of non-sagging materials or bundles of non-sagging materials. You must use horizontal clamps in pairs or more.
Vertical Clamps: Vertical lifting clamps are used for the turning, lifting, or moving of sheets, plates, or fabrications from horizontal to vertical (180 degrees) as needed. The hinged hoisting eye of a vertical clamp allows for it to place and lift the load from any direction, with proper leg sling and with side-loading.
J.C. Renfroe® Plate ClampsJ. C. Renfroe® manufactures many different models of plate clamps to meet the needs of a range of industries. Typical features of their plate clamps include a “Lock Closed” and “Lock Open” feature, which facilitates clamp attachment and removal; and a design that is capable of turning a plate from horizontal to vertical and back through the same 90 degree arc.
Crosby IP® ClampsAll Crosby® materials are built to be as durable as possible, meaning that you can perform your applications with confidence in the strength of these plate clamps. Crosby® manufactures both vertical and horizontal plate clamps—and some of their models have a "universal" eye, meaning they can pull materials in all directions. These plate clamps are fabricated with an alloy steel for increased capability without increased size. Each of these clamps are proof tested to twice their working load limit, with certification.
Throughout the world, heavy lifting industries use Campbell® clamps for conveying and positioning of sheet, plate and structurals. The unique design of these clamps mean that the heavier the load, the tighter they grip it. The construction of the plate clamps utilizes drop forge processes for strength and long life; and each clamp is individually proof tested.
