S-280 Web Connectors
These Crosby® web connectors connect the synthetic web and round slings to the other, conventional hardware. They make it easy to assemble a bridle quickly and easily, right in the field, and there is no cotter pin to snag the sling material. The connectors are covered by durable vinyl that protects the sling at the eye and keeps it positioned correctly on the spool. Further, the increased radius of a spool results in a wider sling bearing surface and an increased load distribution area. These products are intended for use with Type III, Class 7, 2 play webbing and synthetic round slings; however, they will also accommodate single ply and endless slings. All alloy construction and a design factor of 5:1 makes these connectors some of the most trusted Crosby® fittings for Houston contractors.

Web Sling Shackles
For Crosby® shackles that incorporate the same ear spread and pin dimensions as conventional shackles, choose this line of fittings. They allow for easy connections to pad eyes, lifting lugs and eye bolts, and each product is individually proof tested for the values shown by certifications. Houston riggers trust these Crosby® sling saver fittings because they increase the synthetic sling efficiency by at least 15% when compared to conventional eye hooks or standard anchor and chain shackle bows. The increased bow radius allows for a wider sling bearing surface, which, in turn, increases the load distribution area and allows better load distribution on internal fibers. All of these Crosby® shackles include a Product Identification Code that identifies both the material traceability and the Working Load Limit.

S-252/S-253 Sling Shackles
These shackles are designed with a non-slip surface that eliminates the bunching effect that is often caused by traditional shackles, reducing the sling’s tendency to slide. Houston riggers can specify these Crosby® fittings to meet a range of size requirements, from 3 1/4 to 50 tons. Like other Crosby® shackles, the increased synthetic sling efficiency allows 100% of the slings’ rated Working Load Limit to be achieved. These products are available in both a nut and cotter pin and screw pin and bolt configuration; and the bolt (or pin) has a larger diameter for better load distribution. Every all-alloy shackle comes with the PIC and Crosby name forged into it.

WS-320 Web Sling Hooks
Web sling hooks are first designed to be used with 2-ply web slings; however, they can also be used with round slings, given that the Working Load Limit ratings are compatible. These new hooks offer a modern eye that includes a wide beam surface, which eliminates bunching, reduces the sling’s slide and allows a better load distribution on the internal fibers. 1 1/2, 3 and 5 ton hook capacities are available, and 1”, 2” and 3” web sling hook eye widths are also available.

S-282 Web/Chain Connector
These Crosby® sling saver fittings come in three sizes: 3 1/4, 4 1/2 and 6 1/4 Working Load Limits. Each connector is crafted from quenched and tempered alloy steel and has been proof test certified. Rigger use the same spool and cover for these connectors as those used with the original S-280 web connector.

S-287 Choker Hook
The S-287 choker hooks come two sizes, each one proof tested with certifications. The unique design of these hooks will protect the synthetic sling if it is dropped or dragged, and the hooks are designed to reduce friction, fraying and abrasion in the choker area. Like all Crosby® shackle products, these hooks are crafted from alloy steel.
